How Edinburgh Started It All?

John DeMers stumbled on a small-scale fringe theater festival during a visit to Montreal in the dead of winter, crunching through ice and snow to reach performances. He loved the idea and, most of all, the feeling of fringe so much that history’s original festival had to be next – Edinburgh. That summertime encounter in Scotland changed (and/or expanded) the direction of his life, from that of an author, broadcaster and teacher to that of a true fringe aficionado.
